Little Reminders

Nothing quite like a too tight pair of jeans to remind you that you aren’t as small as you were a year ago when you bought the exact same pair of jeans. OUCH!  I did squish, squirm and lay on the bed to get them done up but boy I’m not too sure that I can wear them too long before I bruise or worse split the seams. Now the decision, keep the jeans or return them and buy a larger size?

What would you do? I worry that if I buy the larger size that I won’t work to fit back into these.  HMMMM, what to do, what to do?

  1. Take them back. Get the bigger size. Once you have them, you won't think about the size. But if you keep them, every time you look at them you will feel bad about your self. Knowing you look good, regardless of what the tag says, will help in the battle.

  2. Buy the larger size. I agree. And when they get too big you can keep them as a reminder of this time.

  3. I am with DJ. You are disciplined enough to work on your goals no matter what size your pants are....but while you work you can enjoy your new pair of pants and then feel awesome when you meet your goals later and buy a new pair of pants in the size you wanted to begin with. :) It is always nice to have that "fluctuating" pair of pants to go when you need them.

  4. Yep take them back. You will feel better about yourself in a pair that fits great!

  5. Okay, I MOSTLY agree with everyone, though for me, if I really loved the pants and wanted to get back to where they fit me good. I'd go back, get a larger size, but keep the smaller size as my goal jeans. I'm a very visual person and I need to see them to convince myself that I can get back to that size. If nothing else, go for the larger size, you'll be more comfortable in them and feel more comfortable with yourself!

  6. For me keeping clothes around that don't fit just makes me feel depressed when I try them on. Some people really feel motivated by it. I don't. If it were me, I would get pants that fit and make me feel good and then work on getting into the smaller size. I guess it depends on whether you think keeping them will depress or motivate you! I'm sorry friend. I've been here before...often. Hope you get it figured out!

  7. I kept all my skinny clothes from nine years ago and though I would go through them from time to time, they were a motivation and know as I go through them, it's like shopping but for free. Now I can wear most everything in there and some are even too big already. So, I would say keep 'em if you want to get back down to their size.It all depends on what you want in the end. :)
